Mr Mncedisi Thwala the founder and director of The Graduate Institute of South Africa (The GISA) is seen in the picture below receiving accreditation from Huawei ICT Academy – the institute was appointed as the first-ever Huawei ICT Academy support center outside of China.

Graduate Institute of South Africa, GISA for short, is a registered and globally recognized private FET and Higher Education institution that provides cutting edge global qualifications in ICT, Engineering, Business, Finance and Accountancy, humanities, and more.

In the year 2020, GISA and Huawei ICT Academy forged a partnership were the institution delivers Huawei ICT technologies training, encourages students to get Huawei certification, and develops talents with practical skills for the ICT industry and the community.

Upon achieving a high pass rate in Huawei Certified ICT Associate courses throughout the past year and being invited to Huawei Job Fairs and interview sessions; Graduate Institute of South Africa has been looking forward to strengthening its association with Huawei ICT Academy, in order to play a role in assisting this global leading ICT solution provider to continue providing more advanced technologies, cultivate talents and in helping students become more employable.

May 2021 GISA was appointed by Huawei to be the first-ever Huawei ICT Academy Support Center outside of China. Virtually this means Graduate Institute of South Africa is the first-ever Huawei Support Center in the world! This was officialized in a signing ceremony at Huawei campus, the headquarters of Huawei in South Africa on Friday, 14 May 2021.

As a support center, GISA will:

  • Provide support to other Huawei ICT academies, stimulates the foundation of new academies, and promote participation in training programs.
  • Help in accessing current information, available tools and sources
  • Help with promotion of Huawei ICT Academy program
  • Link the Huawei ICT Academy and other academies
  • Organization and execution of additional training for instructors and/or academy administration
  • Reporting to Huawei on the performance of the academies
